Wow! I can’t believe it’s the last day of slicing. I feel like I’m still going to go through my day and be like, “Oh, I should slice about that.”
Today, I had a couple of those moments.
This morning, I walk into my cycling class and a girl in the bike in front of me turns toward me and goes, “Omg, JULIA??”
I look at her and have not a single ounce of recognition. Is she a friend of a sisters? From Farmington? From Wesleyan?
“Omg, hi!” I answered. “This is crazy!”
“Your red hair is just such a give away.”
I silently curse myself. Damn being so recognizable. We continue to have a conversation where I slowly start to piece together who she is… Went to college together but never had spoken (I don’t think, at least). She even offered me free sports tickets for the professional sports team she works for.
Just to add a taste of another noteworthy slice since it is my last day slicing, I was recently told in a diagnostic for my iPhone that my cellular data is failing. He told me that if I don’t want to buy a new phone right now, I can keep using it until I can’t make calls not on WiFi. I’ve felt pretty good since I haven’t had any issues lately dropping calls.
Well. For those that have been following along, you’d know that I walk everywhere. Today I had to drive. A couple of times. And it turns out, GPS relies HIGHLY on cellular data, and I rely HIGHLY on my GPS. I was basically going back to the days of mapquest driving along the streets of Boston. It was, at you might guess, a disaster — I did accidentally take the bridge over to Cambridge twice. Cheers.
Anyway, thank you all for making my first slicing experience so enjoyable! I’ll hopefully be back next year as a first-year med student (eep)!!
